Order for Second Reading read.

MR. CARDWELL moved, that the Order of the Day for the second reading of the Irish Reform Bill should be discharged.

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Order be discharged."

MR. HENNESSY

said, he objected to the withdrawal of the measure.

COLONEL FRENCH

said, he wished to enter his protest against the provisions of the Bill, and to express a hope that next year a very different measure would be introduced.

THE O'DONOGHUE moved the adjournment of the debate.

MR. SOTHERON ESTCOURT

said, he did not see what good the hon. Member could do by persisting in forcing another division. He, therefore, hoped that the Motion would be withdrawn.

Question, "That the Debate be now adjourned," put and negatived.
