MR. DANBY SEYMOURsaid, he wished to inquire what course the Government intend to take with regard to the Licensing Bill in India, and whether that Bill has been passed through all its stages by the Legislative Council at Calcutta?
§ SIR CHARLES WOODsaid, that the Licensing Bill had been introduced and had passed through certain stages. Its further progress, however, was postponed until after the Legislative Council should again meet. The Legislative Council had not yet met, and he was not in a condition to state what course the Government of India would pursue upon the Bill.
