EWARTsaid, he rose to ask the Secretary of State for India, Whether Her Majesty's Government had given their consideration to the importance of introducing into the Legislative Council of India representatives of the Commercial Class and the class of British settlers, as well as of the Natives of India? also to the importance of an annual statement being made by the executive Government in India of the financial state of the Government, and of the publication of the same for the information of the public in India?
