said, the Bill would probably lead to a prolonged discussion, and he therefore hoped that the Chancellor of the Exchequer would not press the Motion.

THE CHANCELLOR OR THE EXCHEQUER

said, if there was to be a discussion at the present stage of the Bill, he could not think of pressing the third reading. There was another Bill—Sir John Barnard's Act Repeal Bill—on which there would probably be a discussion, and he would consent to that also being postponed.
