MR. MONCREIFF

moved for leave to bring in a Bill to amend the law of Scot- land on the relationship of husband and wife. He would only state at present, that the object of the Bill was to assimilate the law of Scotland to the new law of England, with regard to the separate property of wives deserted by their husbands, and to regulate the jurisdiction of the two countries with regard to marriage and divorce.
