HC Deb 11 March 1859 vol 153 c14
VISCOUNT CASTLEROSSE

said, he would beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the attention of the Government has been directed to the case of the Depositors in the Tralee and Killarney Savings' Banks; and, if so, whether he can hold out any hope that compensation will be made to them for the losses they sustained by the failure of those establishments?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER

said, he was only acquainted with the facts of the case from the investigation of the Committee of that House; and, as far as he was informed, he saw no reason to challenge the justice of the Report of that Committee or its decision.

On Question "That the House at rising adjourn till Monday next."
