§ CAPTAIN DANIEL O'CONNELLsaid, he wished to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer if he intends to refer the proposed line of postal service from Eng-land to Australia, viâ Panama, for which tenders have recently been invited and received, to the Select Committee for which he moved on Thursday, the 7th instant?
§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUERsaid, that he bad not intended to make that reference, but if the tenders to which the hon. Gentleman referred had been sent in, they would be within the scope of the reference of the Committee, and it would be within the province of the Committee to examine that and other lines and tenders.
