HC Deb 14 February 1859 vol 152 cc334-5
LORD ADOLPHUS VANE-TEMPEST

said, he wished to ask the Secretary of State for War whether any and what steps have been taken by Her Majesty's Government to carry out the recommendations of the Committee of last Session, with reference to the half pay of the officers of the late Land Transport Corps.

GENERAL PEEL

said, that steps had been taken to carry out the recommendations of the Committee. Those Officers who had been placed permanently on the modified scale of half pay, would have per- manently the full half pay of their respective ranks, and those who had obtained temporary half pay upon a modified scale, would receive it temporarily upon the full scale. The case of those officers who were promoted in the Crimea, but whose commissions had not received the sanction of the Home authorities, were now under consideration.
