said, he would beg to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is prepared to bring in a Bill for amending the Representation of the People in Scotland; and if so, when; and if he is prepared to bring in a Bill this Session for providing Sheriff Court accommodation in Scotland.

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER

—It is, Sir, the intention of the Government to introduce a Bill to amend the representation of the people in Scotland. It is not, however, possible for me at the present moment to say when such measure will be introduced.
