HC Deb 10 February 1859 vol 152 c220
MR. GREER

said, he rose to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether he intends to introduce any Bill this Session to increase the security of depositors in Savings Banks; and whether the Government propose to indemnify, in whole or in part, the depositors in the Tralee and Killarney Savings Banks for the losses they sustained by the failure of those banks.

MR. WALPOLE

replied, that although the question was one not strictly affecting his Department, he could inform the hon. Member that the subject was at the present moment under the attention of the Irish Government.
