COWANsaid, he wished to ask the Lord Advocate whether, as this Bill which had been placed on the Order of the Day had been scarcely seen in Scotland, 336 as great anxiety was felt with reference to some of its provisions, the Right hon. and learned Lord would consent to postpone it until after the Whitsuntide holidays.
§ THE LORD ADVOCATEsaid, he could not consent to postpone the Measure for so long a period as that suggested, but he had no objection to delay the second reading till the next week.
