§ MR. DUNLOPsaid, he wished to ask the Lord Advocate Whether it is his intention to introduce during the present Session any measure for the simplification of the Titles to Land in Scotland?
§ THE LORD ADVOCATEsaid, that he was not prepared at present to give his hon. and learned Friend an explicit pledge as to the character of any measure which might be introduced upon this subject. The question, however, was one of great importance, demanding very serious deliberation, and it appeared to him that, although a great deal had been done by his predecessors in the way of improving the law of Scotland in this department, still more remained to be clone in the way of rendering the transmission of real estate more simple, expeditious, and economical.
