§ MR. WESTERNsaid, he would beg to ask the Secretary for the Home Department whether it is the intention of Her Majesty's Government, during the present Session of Parliament, to bring in any measure for the abolition of the Turnpike System throughout England; or whether they intended to support the clause relating to Turnpikes contained in the Highway Act of last Session.
§ MR. WALPOLEsaid, the subject was under the consideration of the Government at the present moment. When the late Government went out of office they had a Bill in the course of preparation, but he had not yet seen it, and, until he had, he could not give a decided answer to the question.
