§ SIR EDWARD COLEBROOKEasked the Lord Advocate what are the intentions of the Government with regard to the Scotch Registration Bill.
§ THE LORD ADVOCATEsaid, that, however anxious the Government might be to extend to all boroughs the advantages at present confined to a few, it appeared to them more consistent to delay the consideration of the subject to next Session, when the Government had announced its intention to bring in a general measure relating to the representation of the people. Moreover, he did not think that, if the Bill were introduced at so late a period, it could be passed into law during the present Session.
