HC Deb 20 February 1857 vol 144 cc932-3
CAPTAIN SCOBELL

said, he wished to ask the First Lord of the Treasury when the Order of Victoria for Valour would be put into operation, and whether he had any objection to the Statutes and Regulations under which that Order had been established being placed upon the Table of the House?

VISCOUNT PALMERSTON

said, that, in answer to the question of his hon. and gallant Friend, he had to state that the list for the members of the navy to whom that Order was to be given had been already made out, and that the list for the army was in the course of preparation. When the lists were completed, they would be published in the Gazette, and there could then be no objection whatever to the production of the Statutes and Regulations under which the Order had been established.
