§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER moved, "That a Supply be granted to Her Majesty."
§ In reply to a question from Sir D. NORREYS,
THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EX-CHEQUERstated that it was not the intention of the Government to ask for any Votes in Committee of Supply before Christmas. The present Resolution related to a charge upon the Consolidated Fund, and was not in the nature of a Vote. He had considered the Report of the Committee of last Session with regard to proceedings in Committee of Supply, and he had prepared some Resolutions founded upon that Report, which he would submit to the House after the holidays.
