HC Deb 06 August 1857 vol 147 c1202

Order for Third Reading read.

SIR GEORGE GREY

said, that, owing to certain representations and objections which had been made from different parts of the country, he wished for a little more time to mature some details with reference to this Bill, and consequently he felt himself obliged to postpone it for another Session, He should therefore move that the Order for the third reading of the Bill be discharged.

SIR JOHN PAKINGTON

was understood to regret the necessity for such a step; but he hoped that, when the Bill came next before them, it would he with its provisions much more extended in the same direction.

Order discharged. Bill withdrawn.
