HC Deb 04 August 1857 vol 147 c1082
MR. WARREN

said, he wished to inquire whether the Government have received any intelligence of the refusal of the Persians to evacuate Herat.

VISCOUNT PALMERSTON

I do not believe, Sir, that any intelligence has been received as yet with regard to the evacuation of Herat. I do not think there has been time for a communication to be made after the arrival of the Commissioner at Teheran.

House adjourned at half after One o'clock.
