CAPTAIN LEICESTER VERNON rose to move— That it is the opinion of this House, that it will be to the advantage of the service to employ general officers from the scientific corps on the staff of the army. The hon. and gallant Member was proceeding to complain that there had been no appointments during the war to the staff of the army from the scientific corps, when—

Notice taken, that Forty Members were not present; House counted; and Forty Members not being present,

The House was adjourned at half after One o'clock till Friday.
