HC Deb 05 May 1856 vol 141 c2037
VISCOUNT PALMERSTON

Mr. Speaker, I rise to make a proposal which I feel confident the House will agree to, namely, that the thanks of this House be given to the Rev. Thomas Garnier, who preached before us yesterday. I am sure that those who had the advantage of hearing that admirable discourse must have appreciated the sound judgment, good taste, and good feeling with which that sermon was delivered, and that the House will only be doing its duty in awarding a vote of thanks to their rev. chaplain for the same.

Resolved, Nemine Contradicente, That the Thanks of this House be given to the Reverend THOMAS GARNIER, Chaplain to this House, for the Sermon preached by him yesterday before this House at Saint Margaret's, Westminster, and that he be desired to print the same.
