§ SIR JAMES FERGUSSONsaid, he would beg to ask the hon. Gentleman the Under Secretary for War whether it was intended, in consequence of peace, to make any reduction in the number of companies, or in the number of captains of companies, of the Foot Guards.
§ MR. FREDERICK PEELsaid, that the number of companies in each battalion of the Guards had been increased to ten during the war, and as it was not the intention of the Government to make any reduction in that number, of course any vacancies which occurred in the number of captains would be filled up.
