§ MR. FRENCHsaid, he begged to ask the First Lord of the Treasury if he had any objection to inform the House who the persons are to whom Lord Dundonald's plans for the destruction of the Russian fortresses have been submitted by Her Majesty's Government?
§ VISCOUNT PALMERSTONSir, I have no objection to state that the invention in question has been referred to several eminent scientific men, amongst whom are Professors Faraday, Playfair, and Graham. But I would submit to the House whether there can be any advantage attained by going into the discussion of the question at this time, whether the invention in question is adopted or not?
