§ Order for Committee read.
§ House in Committee.
§ MR. HORSMANsaid, the Government were willing to yield to a suggestion made by hon. Gentlemen opposite, and to limit the continuance of the Bill to the 1st of July next, instead of the 31st of August.
COLONEL DUNNEsaid, the Act had never been really applicable to any portion of Ireland. It was imposed upon districts in which no outrage bad ever been committed. To pass year after year a strong measure of that kind was not the way to prevent disorder in Ireland.
§ The House resumed.
§ Bill reported, with Amendments.
