HC Deb 06 June 1848 vol 99 c429
MR. H. BERKELEY

begged to ask a question of the right hon. Baronet the Secretary of State for the Home Department respecting the County Courts Act. It appeared that somewhere about 600,559l. had been received under the operation of that Act, of which only 345,1221, had reached the suitors, showing the monstrous return of nearly 50 per cent for fees. Now, he thought that a subject well worthy of the attention of the Government, and begged to ask if it was the intention of the right hon. Gentleman to revise the Act as far as it related to the scale of fees?

SIR G. GREY

said, that the matter was under the consideration of the Government, and he should shortly be enabled to state what would be decided as to the scale of fees.
