HC Deb 25 November 1847 vol 95 c211
SIR J. PAKINGTON

asked the right hon. Baronet the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether it was the intention of Her Majesty's Government to introduce any measure this Session for altering the laws of settlement of the poor.

SIR G. GREY

replied, that at present it was not the intention of Her Majesty's Government to introduce such a measure; but in stating this, he did not preclude himself from taking any course in future which might lead to a satisfactory settlement of the question.
