§ CAPTAIN HARRISwished to ask the noble Lord at the head of the Government whether it were his intention to propose any measure to put a stop to the exportation of wheat now going on, 134,000 quarters having been exported during the last month, and large exportations were still going on. The price of wheat was rising very rapidly, and he understood a further rise of several shillings had taken place on that day.
LORD J. RUSSELLI beg to inform the hon. Member that it is not the intention of Her Majesty's Government to pro- 528 pose any restrictions upon the exportation of wheat.
