HC Deb 20 December 1847 vol 95 cc1438-9
SIR R. INGLIS

wished to know whether it was the intention of the Secretary of State for the Home Department to call the attention of the House to the Stock-in- Trade Act, with a view to a consideration of the whole question?

SIR G. GREY

had stated at the close of last Session that considerable difficulties beset the whole question with regard to the rating of stock-in-trade. He could not say that those difficulties were diminished, and though the question was an important one, he could not, in the meantime, hold out any hope that a measure would be introduced on the subject.
