§ Mr. G. W. Hopemoved the Second Reading of the Waste Lands (Australia) Bill. He had some important Amendments to introduce.
§ Mr. C. Bullerobjected to the Bill being pressed; he had understood it would not be pressed if objected to, and he could assure the hon. Gentleman it would be resolutely and vigorously opposed in every stage.
§ Mr. Aglionbysaid not one, but every interest, was opposed to the Bill. He 1271 moved that it be read a second time that day six months.
§ The House divided on the Question, that the words six months be added:—Ayes 11; Noes 34: Majority 23.
