On the Vote of 7,380l. for grants to the Scotch Universities, formerly paid from the hereditary revenues of the Crown,

Mr. S. Crawford,

objecting to any grant to a professor of divinity, moved that the Vote be reduced to 7,228l.

The Committee divided on the Ques- tion, that the sum be 7,228l.:—Ayes 9, Noes 66; Majority 57.

Vote agreed to.
