Mr. M. Gibson

begged to ask whether Her Majesty's Government bad received any communication from the Dutch Government relative to the importation of the sugar of Java into this country, and whether there would be any objection to lay copies of those communications on the Table?

said, that Her Majesty's Government were in correspondence with the Dutch Government on the subject of certificates of origin, and also in regard to the differential duties on British commerce; but he was not prepared to lay copies of that correspondence before the House.
