asked whether the Government had any objection to lay upon the Table copies of the instructions issued to American and British cruisers engaged in the slave-trade on the coast of Africa?

Sir R. Peel

said, it would be very convenient to slave-traders to know what those instructions were, but for that reason he must decline producing them.
