§ Dr. Bowringinquired of the right hon. Gentleman the Vice-President of the Board of Trade, whether the attention of the Government had been directed to the necessity of some regulation to prevent the overloading of steam-boats on the river, with the view to secure the public against the dangers to which they are at present exposed.
Mr. Gladstonesaid, that no representations had been lately made to the Government on the subject, but he would admit that it was one which deserved, and would receive, the attention of Ministers.
