§ Lord A. Lennoxbegged to ask his hon. and gallant Friend, the Member for Chippenham, (Captain Boldero), whether it was the intention of the Ordnance Department to issue muskets with percussion locks to the 6,000 troops who were about to be sent out to India? And also, whether it was the intention of the same department to issue the same species of muskets to the depots which were to form the new battalions for the colonies.
§ Captain Bolderosaid, that the Ordnance would be able to furnish the troops with effective and efficient percussion arms. With respect to the second question, he had to state that when the battalions were formed, it would be necessary to furnish them with the same description of arms, and it would be done.
