§ Lord John Mannersinquired of the right hon. and learned Member for Cork, whether he proposed to bring the condition of the Spanish clergy before the House this Session?
Mr. O'Connellsaid, that it was his intention to bring the subject before the House. He thought that there could not be a class more entitled to the sympathy of that House than these unfortunate clergy, or a subject more calling for their attention, than the infamous system which the Spanish government had pursued in relation to them.
