On the Order of the Day for the second reading of the Public Houses Bill,

Sir James Graham

said, that he had to request the hon. and gallant Member for Westminster, to postpone the further progress of this bill for a few days, and, in doing so, he could assure the gallant Officer that he believed that by a postponement, Such an arrangement might be made as would be satisfactory to all parties.

Captain Rous

observed, that under the circumstances he would willingly postpone the bill; but he would then give notice that he should bring it forward that day fortnight.

Bill postponed.
