was desirous of knowing whether the right hon. Gentleman, the Secretary-at-War, had received any communication from the East-India Company with respect to the spiritual wants and instructions of Roman Catholic soldiers in India, and whether the right hon. Gentleman had any hopes of procuring a remedy for the evils complained of on this subject?

Mr. Macaulay

assured the hon. and learned Gentleman, that the President of the Board of Control was doing everything to promote the spiritual accommodation of the Roman Catholic soldiers in India.
