§ Mr. Lambtonwished to ask the noble Lord, whether it was his intention this Session to introduce any measure founded on the recommendation of the committee on Church Leases. The holders of that property could not at present borrow money on that security, owing to the unsettled state of the question, and it was of importance that some measure should be enacted as speedily as possible.
§ Lord John Russellwas fully aware of the importance of the subject to which the hon. Member had referred, but from the many difficulties attendant on it, he begged to say, it was not his intention to propose any bill on the subject during the present Session, but early next Session he hoped to be able to submit to the House some measure that would prove satisfactory to the country.
