HC Deb 13 May 1836 vol 33 cc905-6
Sir Oswald Mosley

wished to know whether his Majesty's Government had it under consideration to bring in a Bill this Session, or very early in the next, to regulate the rural police? A measure on this subject was very much required, and the country felt very anxious that it should be passed.

Lord John Russell

said, that a Bill was in preparation on the subject, but he could not say that he should bring it under the consideration of the House this Session. If there was time he would do so, but it would altogether depend upon the state of the public business, and he could not hold out any hopes to the hon. Gentleman.
