§ Mr. Arthur Trevorsaid, that he wished to put a question to the noble Lord the Secretary for the Home Department, which he considered of paramount importance at the present moment, and which the public looked to with great interest. He would not allude to the various reports in circulation beyond ["Question!"]. Reports, however, were in general circulation respecting certain appointments connected with the Government, and these had been strengthened, and partly confirmed, by an expression used the other night by the hon. and learned Member for Dublin. He wished to know whether the legal appointments connected with the Irish Government had, previously to their being confirmed, been submitted, either directly or indirectly, to the hon. and learned Member for Dublin for his approbation.
§ No answer was given to the question.
