HC Deb 23 June 1835 vol 28 c1120
The Attorney-General

moved for leave to bring in a Bill to alter the law with respect to the Ecclesiastical Courts.

Colonel Sibthorp

opposed the Motion in consequence of the lateness of the hour. It appeared to him that there was something like a collusion between the late and the present Attorney-General with respect to the Bill on this subject.

The Attorney-General

remarked that the Bill had been recommended by a Commission, of which the Ecclesiastical Judges were members, and, therefore, it could not be considered a measure of a party.

Leave given.
