HC Deb 27 July 1831 vol 5 c395
Viscount Palmerston

laid on the Table a Protocol of a Conference held at the Foreign Office, on April 17th, 1831, between the Plenipotentiaries of Austria, Great Britain, Russia and Prussia, and also a note addressed to these Plenipotentiaries, by the Plenipotentiary of France, on July 14th, 1831.

Mr. Hume

wished to ask the noble Lord, if there would be any objection to lay on the Table of the House the whole of the Protocols relative to Belgium?

Viscount Palmerston

replied, that the state of the question was not yet so far advanced towards a conclusion as to allow him to comply with the hon. Member's request. It was not yet finally settled that war would not take place between Holland and Belgium; and it would be premature to produce the papers in question.
