The Lord Stewardattended in the Long Gallery to swear in the Members of the House of Commons, and a considerable number were sworn in. The Commons being summoned, repaired to the House of Peers, accompanied by the Clerk of the House, and on their return, the Clerk informed the Members, that a Commission, appointed by his Majesty, had commanded the Commons to choose a Speaker.
