Mr. ASTELL. brought up the Report on the Tanjore Commissioners Bill.

(The hon. Member stated, in answer to a question from Mr. Trant, that the Carnatic Commission, had closed its labours—had made its last report—and that the salary of 300l.. a year, which the Tanjore Commissioners enjoyed as co-Carnatic Commissioners, had, as a consequence, terminated, reducing their salary to 1,500l. from 1,800l. a year.
