Mr. Denison

presented a Petition from the Woollen Manufacturers of the Parish of St. Mary Magdalen, Bermondsey, one of the most populous in the county of Surrey, and once the scat of the wool trade, complaining- of the duty on Wool, and praying for its reduction. The hon. Member, after expressing a hope that the right hon. Gentleman, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, would pursue the course he had begun, and reduce more taxes next year, presented petitions from the agriculturists of several parishes, praying a reduction of the duty on Malt.
