HC Deb 05 February 1830 vol 22 cc133-4
Mr. Robinson

.—As I have a question to put to the right hon. Secretary of the Home Department, of great importance, I trust that he will give me such a reply as will remove the uneasiness which exists in England, in Canada, and elsewhere upon the subject. The question is, whether any negotiations are now pending between the government of England and that of the United States, for the purpose of renewing the direct intercourse between the United States and our colonies in the West Indies.

Mr. Peel

.—My answer is, that a communication upon that subject has been received by his majesty's government from, the minister of the United States, and that that communication is still under consideration.
