Mr. William Williams

, pursuant to notice, moved for leave to bring in a bill to impose an oath on persons voting in right of small freeholds and to prevent fraudulent conveyances of such freeholds; and also to amend the25th Geo.3rd, c. 84, relative to the oath of qualification. His object in bringing in this bill was not to alter in any respect the law of the land; he merely wished, that whoever claimed a right to vote, should bona fide possess that right.
