Mr. Brogden reported from the Committee of supply, the following Resolutions, which were read, and agreed to by the House:

  1. 1. Resolved, That a sum, not exceeding 8,231l. 11s. 4d., be granted to his Majesty for enabling the trustees of the British Museum to carry on the trusts reposed in them by parliament; and that the said sum be issued and paid without any fee or other deduction whatsoever.
  2. 2. That a sum, not exceeding 1,000l., be granted to his Majesty, to enable the trustees of the British Museum to proceed in making the necessary purchases for improving the collection of printed books respecting the British islands and the several possessions of the British empire; and that the said sum be issued and paid without any fee or other deduction whatsoever.
