HC Deb 03 May 1804 vol 24 c238
MR. PROVAND (Glasgow, Blackfriars)

I beg to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will refer the Eight Hours Bill for Miners to a Select Committee of the House, to take evidence and report if it would have any effect, if passed into law, on the price and output of coal?

SIR W. HARCOURT

No, Sir; we do not see any advantage in referring this Bill to a Committee.
