HC Deb 10 November 1970 vol 806 c198
Q1. Mr. McNamara

asked the Prime Minister when he next plans to visit the United Nations.

The Prime Minister (Mr. Edward Heath)

I have no plans at present for a further visit to the United Nations, Sir.

Mr. McNamara

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that I rather thought that that would be his Answer? There was one glaring omission from his last speech at the United Nations. When he was talking of the growth of political violence and legacies of past errors, he might have considered the past of other Conservative Administrations in selling arms to South Africa and decided not to go forward with selling arms to South Africa in future.

The Prime Minister

That is irrelevant to the hon. Gentleman's Question about a future visit.
