HC Deb 05 June 1940 vol 361 cc836-7
20. Mr. Jackson

asked the Minister of Information whether he will arrange for all Government orders and instructions to be printed each day as they are issued in a prominent position by each of our national daily newspapers, in order that these orders and instructions may be adequately understood and known by the general public?

Mr. Cooper

I have no compulsory powers over newspapers which would enable me to take the action indicated in the Question, but I am sure that the Press will continue to co-operate in securing full publicity for Government orders and instructions.
